Neuron, a well respected journal, recently put out its 20th Anniversary Edition.
The good news is that the online edition is free to the public.
Normally a free edition of a neuroscience journal wouldn't mean much, but this issue has a lot of perspective pieces written by experts on the past, present, and future of their fields. These articles seem to be written for an intelligent lay audience, which is fantastic. It's always exciting to come across things like this, that explain the recent history of a scientific subfield in a way that is only normally done in a classroom or private discussion with a professor.
Take a look, there's some good stuff.
